Teeth Whitening INFO

You want lash extensions but what exactly are they?
Eyelash extensions are made out of a synthetic material called PBT (polybutylene terephthalate). A trained professional adheres the synthetic lashes individually to your natural lashes with an adhesive specifically formulated for lash application. Lash extensions are semi permanent and can last several weeks but it varies from person to person on the exact length of time.

Some factors to keep in mind are how well you care for them, if you have oily skin, lifestyle such as working out and sweating excessively or boating with gusts of wind etc. Your natural shedding process could also affect your retention along with certain medications. Lash extensions come in varying lengths, curls and diameters. Each set is customized to the individual. The application process is a painless procedure some clients even fall asleep!

How to Prepare for your LASH appointment

I’m so happy you've chosen to get eyelash extensions and even more excited that you've trusted me to be your lash artist. There are a few things you need to know before arriving to your appointment. Please refrain from any caffeinated beverages before your appointment as you will need to lay still. Also, caffeine can cause the eyes to flutter which can make it difficult to apply the lash extensions properly or sometimes may prevent an application depending on the severity of eye movement.

Makeup on the eyes and surrounding area should be removed before your appointment. Any makeup residue can affect your retention and we want the best possible, so please arrive with the area properly cleaned.

If you wear contact lenses please remove them before you arrive or bring the necessary items to remove them prior to your service.

If it's your first appointment with me I'll have you fill out a consent form and we’ll have a consultation to answer any questions or concerns and to decide on a length, curl and style that will best suit your needs.

And lastly, to be able to provide you with the best service I have a no children policy as you will be laying with your eyes closed for the duration of your appointment and you will be unable to open your eyes or monitor them. Thank you for your cooperation and I look forward to meeting you! (Also, if you are a new client with existing lash extensions from another artist there is a $15 additional fee if I’m able to work over the existing lash extensions. There is a chance I may be unable to do the service due to improper application in which I cannot guarantee my work and/or risking the health and integrity of your natural lashes)

Please do not wet your lashes for the next 10-12 hours. Avoid excessive sweating during this period as well.

Avoid prolonged periods where steam is involved ex. steamy showers, saunas, jacuzzis, hot yoga. Exposure to steam as well as heat weakens the adhesive and you'll lose your lash extensions faster and it can also relax the curl of your extensions.

Mascara is not recommended for your lash extensions. It will bind them together, weigh them down and can potentially create an environment where bacteria can grow since you are unable to to clean your lash extensions like you can your natural lashes. You can apply mascara to your bottom lashes if desired but please be sure to remove it before going to bed because it will transfer to the top lashes.

Any and all cosmetics applied should be oil free and removed daily with an oil free makeup remover.

Avoid sleeping on your lashes. If you squish them they will not bounce back like your natural lashes will. Sleeping on your back is recommended but a silk or satin pillowcase works well for all of you face sleepers out there.

Do not curl or pick at your lash extensions. They are attached to your natural lashes and you don't want to cause any damage to them, especially permanent damage.

Avoid unnecessary rubbing of your eyes or touching of your lash extensions. The natural oils on your hands will break down the adhesive faster not to mention hands are full of germs. So as tempting as it is, please don't touch your eyes or lashes.

Brush your lashes daily. In the morning and evening is usually sufficient. Excessive brushing can weaken the adhesive and cause premature loss of your lash extensions.

And last but definitely not least, cleanse your lashes daily! Our skin naturally sheds and oils can build up in the lash line making it a breeding ground for bacteria so please keep them clean! Use an oil free cleanser that is suitable for the eye area and with a gentle brush clean along the base of the lash line and be sure to rinse them well so as to not leave any cleanser in the lashes.
